LIHU‘E — Ola Pono O Kaua‘i, a mental health and wellness conference, will be held on June 7-8 at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. The conference meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both dates.
Free and open to the public, the two-day event will feature presentations by mental health industry leaders, and elected officials on the cutting-edge practices.

Ola Pono O Kaua‘i is a collaborative effort between partners that include the Hawai‘i Department of Health, Kaua‘i Rural Health Association, Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance, Kaua‘i Resilience Project, Keiki to Career and Life’s Choices Kaua‘i.
“We are excited that this year, we were able to expand the former Life’s Choices Drug Summit into a two-day event that focuses not just on drug user and prevention, but also covers important topics on mental health and well-being that are vital to the continued safety of Kaua‘i, and our people,” said County of Kaua‘i Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Like.
Participants will be provided with a light meal. Registration deadline is June 2.
The June 8 program will include topics that include mental health carriers, the state’s efforts to address wellness and resilience, and early childhood mental health. The day will end with a health career fair for those interested in exploring careers in the healthcare industry.
Honolulu councilman and local entertainer Augie Tulba will emcee the day’s presenters that will include Gov. Josh Green, Tia Hartsock, Dr. Deb. Goebert, Chris Molina, Priti “Maya” Tayal, Erin Henderson Lacerdo, Puanani Hee and Dr. Ron Fujimoto.
