Following are this week’s synopses of shows on KBFD TV, which televises Korean dramas with English subtitles.
Weekly Update
The Story of Dreams: Picture Brides produced by KBFD TV, Korean American Foundation and J Wonder recently was awarded the Silver Remi at the 56th annual Houston Film Festival. This documentary features life of early Korean immigrants to Hawai‘i and stories through their descendants. Stories of discrimination, alienation, losing their mother country, independence movement and struggles of plantation life. Korean women moved to Hawaiæi in early 1900’s in their early 20s to meet men who are in late 40s and 50s. They were the base of Korean independence and left their legacy through their children.
Blessing of the Sea
Episode 105 &106; Episode 107 &108 (Sunday)
Today, 6:40 p.m.: Chung-yi and her father are reunited. Poong-do holds a press release announcing Pil-du’s dismissal from the company. Whereas Pil-do accuses Poong-do of slander. Enraged Pil-du heads for where Chung-yi is kept captive, only to find Ji-hwan waiting for him. Pil-du tries to harm Ji-hwan but authorities take him away.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Cho Ji-hwan is sad over the irony of the thief of Portrait of Beauty raised his daughter. Ji-hwan is furious when he witnesses how Duk-hee treats Chung-yi. Seeing how Chung-yi must have been treated greatly saddens him. He plods Chung-yi to move in with him.

Episodes 3 (Monday) Episode 4 (Tuesday)
Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Han Soo gets closer and closer to getting his revenge. Next on his list is Park Jae Soo. Yeon Joo request Han Soo to take on a divorce case and it so happens that the spouse is his very next target Park Je Soo. Yoo Je Se reminds his son Ji Sun of his disposition.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Han Soo and Yeon Joo’s investigation are met by obstacles set up by Park Je Soo. They turn to their own methods to catch him.
Good Supper
Episodes 13 &14 (Wednesday) Episode 15 &16 (Thursday)
Wednesday, 7:50 p.m.: Young-shin, O-bok, Jung-hoon and Da-jung go to school’s festival together. O-bok gets jealous over Jung-hoon and Da-jung’s chummy attitude toward each other. Young-shin sighs at her predicament. O-bok tells her Jung-hoon and Da-jung are on a different level from them. Young-shin is surprised to see Jung-hoon waiting for her.
Thursday, 7:50 p.m.: Sook-jung make Young-shin all the dirty work at the restaurant and finally fires her. Jung-hoon sympathizes with Young-shin and they drink together. Young-shin lets her guard down and tells Jung-hoon that she’s been going around sobbing.
Gwanggaeto
Episodes 41 (Friday); Episodes 42 (Saturday)
Friday, 7:50 p.m.: When Goguryeo’s king proves willing to even go to war, Gae Yeonsu reveals his intent to try to overthrow the king. After hearing about this, Ko Un heads back to Goguryeo to confirm it.
Saturday, 7:50 p.m.: After arresting Gye Pil and the others, Gae Yeonsu declares that Damdeok created a crisis by trying to kill Murong Chiu and that he made the arrests as Gye Pil and the others were trying to commit treason.
