Congratulations, and mahalo, Kaua‘i Community College culinary arts students and staff, who have been very busy since Earth Day when they used the oven at the big imu to prepare pizza for the people participating in the Earth Day celebration.
Then, there was the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk, where the culinary crews worked alongside the various resorts offering meals following the 3-mile fundraising walk. And, finally, mahalo Chip Bahouth and the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort ‘ohana for the more than $9,000 Table 53 contribution to the Kaua‘i Community College culinary arts students, who will be making their big walk on Friday, when the college celebrates its commencement exercises. Hope the power doesn’t go out. Congratulations, students and staff!
Having the culinary competition was icing on the cake — especially with no electricity! — for the culinary arts students … mahalo, Sheraton Kaua‘i chefs, and congratulations, Jayse Matsuyama and team for getting the blue ribbon nod; Jessica Rose Galzote and team for second place, and Aida Roslin and team for third place.
OK, this weekend, don’t forget your mothers on Mother’s Day, and kudos, Cece Kilma and the Marshallese Association of Kaua‘i, who will celebrate its second year on Kaua‘i, coinciding with the 44th year of the Marshall Islands Constitution.
