What? The deadline for getting fresh, blooming orchid plants to mom on the mainland is Tuesday (that’s tomorrow!)?
Fely Sams of Orchid Alley in Kapa‘a got help from sister Dionisa Tuscano of California for Orchid Alley’s busiest time of the year. Neill Sams is worried about all that rain that’s been keeping Kaua‘i without sunshine. It’s affecting the blooming of those coconut fragrance orchids. Solution? Don’t wait. Order now (even now for local deliveries or pickup from the alley next to Mariachi’s), or face the consequences.
Kimberly Ruchaber was visiting Michele Tylor of Greation Nation (two years for the sign, Michele?), who was busy helping Vincent Tylor (he’s got the shop next door where Michele’s husband Adam has a lot of his photographs on display).
Kimberly works with modular jewelry (it’s amazing what you can do with a circle) and can be found on her KYOTE design website (just don’t get sucked in by the search engines that wantå to tell you “coyote”), kyotedesigns.com.
Janice Bond (she got second place in the Hawai‘iUSA FCU Slippah Drop at the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk!) and Helena Cooney were helping the Kapa‘a Lions Club with their fundraising efforts (nice jewelry for just $10!) that was set up next to Golf (Janice said his name is too long so they just call him “Golf!”), who got his family to help him have Thai food available during the Kapa‘a Business Association First Saturday event that happens the first Saturday of the month.
OK, time to check out the Veterans’ Treasure event (Janice volunteered there from 6 a.m. on Sunday!) to find more “treasures.”
