LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Community College instrumental music programs will present a series of free spring concerts, starting Friday at 7 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center located adjacent to Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and the YMCA.
LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Community College instrumental music programs will present a series of free spring concerts, starting Friday at 7 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center located adjacent to Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and the YMCA.
The KCC Symphony Orchestra will perform all types of classical music, from Beethoven to Bizet to music from the television series “Band of Brothers,” on Friday.
On Saturday, starting at 7 p.m., the KCC Jazz Ensemble will be ready to groove to some fabulous jazz tunes. Some of the ensemble’s offering include “Tuning Up” by Toshiko Akiyoshi and “Celia” by Bud Powell.
“If you love jazz, come join us for a swingin’ evening of improv,” said Sarah Tochiki, the Kaua‘i Community College conductor.
On Sunday, starting at 4 p.m., the KCC Wind Symphony will be performing traditional and popular concert band music, from a Blues Brothers medley to a John Phillip Souza march.
There is no admission charge for any of the presentations.
