Kukui Grove Center is partnering with a bunch of community groups, including the state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office, the Kaua‘i Planning &Action Alliance (Alice Luck will probably be there) during their Saturday event that will offer help (those hands-on previews of the preschool experience are definite winners) for parents to get their keiki ready for the school experience that starts with preschool and doesn’t end until they graduate from high school.
Former state Department of Education Kaua‘i Area Superintendent Bill Arakaki (very nice to see him and wife Coach Blanche Arakaki helping at the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation track and field championships at Vidinha Stadium in Lihu‘e!) had a good term — “lifelong learning” — for those who continue past high school for higher learning.
Congratulations to the Waimea High School softball team on a successful “championship Saturday!” Now, it’s time to see if Kapa‘a High School can get past the Moloka‘i High School Farmers (the game is at the Kapa‘a High School field starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday) to participate in the state Division II softball tournament. Remember 2022, when Kapa‘a and Waimea battled for the Division II title on Maui?
