Stop tailgating
On April 21, 2023, at approximately 7:30 a.m., I left my home on Laulea Street in ‘Ele‘ele to go to work on my motorcycle.
Whenever I ride, I follow the Navy base ruling to enter the base. I wear a long-sleeve, heavy-material-type jacket, long pants, shoes, full-hand pair of motorcycle gloves, a helmet with bright-green stripes on it (my choice), and a bright-green vest (again, my choice). However, I don’t feel too safe when someone is tailgating (black full size 4×4 w/a camper) me!
You tailgated me from my street all the way to Pakala surf spot on the highway. Then, in that area (35 mph) you overtook me going 45 mph. I’m surprised after you overtook me, you ran into heavy traffic leading into Waimea and you didn’t take over those cars in front of you, since you were driving like a bat out of hell before you turned off past the Waimea bridge. With that said, Mr./Mrs./Ms., tailgating doesn’t make anyone feel safe, and it’s not too smart on your part!”
