Imelda Salud
Imelda Salud, 52, of Nevada, passed away on March 28, 2023, at St. Rose Dominican, Las Vegas. She was born on May 3, 1970, in the Philippines. She was employed at Macys for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Rizal and Saturnina Andres and paternal grandparents Regino and Matea Baliza.
She is survived by husband Ben Salud, children Christopher (Amelia) Sarmiento of Oregon, C.J. Sarmiento and Samuel Kalani Fu of Washington, Keilee Salud and Chelsea Salud, grandchildren Kaleb, Kaybree, Karma and Remi Rose Sarmiento, parents Ignacio and Adoracion “Doreen” Baliza, and siblings Robert Baliza of Las Vegas, Merle (Joseph) Briones and Lucena (Guy Clement) Baliza of Las Vegas.
A service is Wednesday, May 3, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa. Viewing begins at 9 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. The family requests casual attire.
Guy Seichi Moriguchi
Guy Seichi Moriguchi passed away on March 10, 2023 in Los Angeles, at the age 63. He was born on June 8, 1959, in Honolulu. He was an operations manager at Aqua Engineers on Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by father Charles T. Moriguchi.
He is survived by wife Shirley Moriguchi, mother Betty S. Moriguchi, daughters Kyra (Evan) Moriguchi and Mallory (Kane) Zalopany, sons Bryce Yoshida and Grant Yoshida, brothers Duane (Denise) Moriguchi and Eric (Janell) Moriguchi, and five grandchildren.
A service is Friday, May 12, at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. and service to follow at 4 p.m.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Faith A. Moniz
Faith A. Moniz passed away on April 5, 2023 in Kalaheo, at the age of 70. She was born on August 3, 1952 in Waimea.
She was preceded in death by parents Fumie and Yoshio Yokoo and brother Charles Yokoo.
She is survived by husband John Moniz of Kalaheo, sons Eli (Trish) Moniz of Honolulu and Oliver (Nikitalynn) Moniz of Kalaheo, daughters Sonya (Keola) Koki of Honolulu and Cynthia (Keven) Hanano of Lihu‘e, eight grandchildren, brother Curtis Yokoo of Japan, sisters Jane Yokoo of Honolulu, Molly Flansburg of Montana, Lois Hirata of Honolulu, Kay Amor of Honolulu, Nancy Yokoo of Honolulu, Joyce Casey of Missouri and Cora Yokoo of Honolulu, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at a later date.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Russell J. Maeda
Russell J. Maeda, 75, passed away on April 2, 2023. He was a Vietnam veteran and a retired contractor. He was born on Jan. 21, 1948 in Lihu‘e.
He was preceded in death by father Tetsuro “Rosy” Maeda.
He is survived by wife Charlotte Maeda, sons Donavan and Darren White, mother Bessie T. Maeda, brother Darryl K. Maeda, sisters Gale (Alfred) Domingsel and Rachel (Henry) Furutani, grandchildren Cody and Alex White, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is Saturday, May 6, at Lihu‘e Christian Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and service to start at 11 a.m.
The family is requesting no flowers or koden, only your presence to bid him aloha.
A private inurnment will be held at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.

Rogelio ‘Roger’ Ganotisi Sr.
Rogelio “Roger” Ganotisi Sr., 73, of Lihu‘e, passed away on March 23, 2023.
He was born on April 9, 1949 to Absalon Agonoy Ganotisi and Florentina Balisacan Lahip Ganotisi, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
He was predeceased by parents Absalon Ganotisi and Florentina Ganotisi and son Ruel Ganotisi.
He is survived by brother Constante (Magdalena) Ganotisi, sister Ursula (Lionel) Pagador, sons Eduardo Balisacan, Rolante Ganotisi and Rogelio Ganotisi Jr., daughters Rhonora Ganotisi, Noralyn Ganotisi and Rolette Ganotisi, and 10 grandchildren.
Services are at Immaculate Conception Church in Lihu‘e on April 22. Burial will follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. He will be buried beside his mother Florentina Ganotisi.
