KAPA‘A — Host Kapa‘a High School tennis and Kaua‘i High School split their meeting, which started Tuesday during Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation makeup matches contested at Kapa‘a High School tennis courts that were still soggy from weekend rain.
Kapa‘a took the girls series, 3-2. Kaua‘i took the boys series, 4-1 in the contest that was also cut short due to rain. The final matches of that series took place on Friday.
On the girls courts, Kaua‘i dropped matches in the two Girls Singles, and the Girls No. 2 Doubles matches.
On the boys courts, Kaua‘i’s only loss came on the No. 3 Doubles floor when Nigel Agcaoili, teaming with Brody Kapali, fell to Kapa‘a’s Ryan Murata and Keola Maroney, 7-5, 1-6, and 10-7.
Both teams resumed regular KIF play when Kapa‘a met up with Island School in Hanalei; and Kaua‘i High School celebrated its Senior Games by hosting Waimea High School at Po‘ipu Kai Tennis Courts.
