LIHU‘E — Island School high school tennis swept their matches over Waimea High School, 6-0 for the girls, and 6-0 for the boys, during the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation matches that were made up from the regularly scheduled Saturday matches that were victims of the relentless rain that blanketed the island.
The Kaua‘i High School tennis team was also victimized by the rain with make-up games rescheduled for Tuesday following school. Those matches got underway, but were cut short by afternoon rain. Another attempt at completing the series was set for Friday.
The KIF tennis continues, Saturday when, according to the KIF schedule, Island School and Kapa‘a High School meet at the Hanalei Bay Resort tennis courts at 10 a.m. Kaua‘i High School hosts Waimea High School at the Po‘ipu Kai tennis courts starting at noon.

Girls 3rd Doubles: Island School Maya Ventura and Nola Brown defeat Waimea Keala Banasihan and Quinn Coscarella, 6-1, 6-4.
Boys 1st Singles: Island School Michael Fitzgerald defeat Waimea Swede Sandblom, 6-0, 6-0.
Boys 2nd Singles: Island School Mark Fitzgerald defeat Waimea Edison Medina, 6-0, 6-0.
Boys 1st Doubles: Island School Ryan So and Jacob Brosamer defeat Waimea Rhazia Tacub-Taniguchi and Edward Pinkston, 6-0, 0-6, (10-1).
Boys 2nd Doubles: Island School Ryan Biederman and Nachi. Elzuardia defeat Waimea Kalem Shimatsu and Mar Ruiz, 6-0, 6-2.
Boys 3rd Doubles: Island School Graydon Rosenthal and Gabe Kelley defeat Waimea Nicholas Bagaoisan and Anthony Udarbe, 6-1, 6-1.
