Kudos to Tess Shimabukuro and the Gather Federal Credit Union (how long has Gary Pacheco been a member?) on breaking ground on their seventh branch (did you remember they have a Koloa Branch, too near the Old Mill Ice Cream parlor — they got Kaua‘i Coffee Po‘ipu Estate for sale).

Unfortunately, the pop-up farmers market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula was calling (no time to enjoy those water lilies at the Kong Lung Trading shopping center). Brownie (what’s the name of the other mascot?) of Sakda Farms was there, and Isobel Storch of Lanipo Farms had finger limes, and chocolate persimmon or sapote for those who needed something to look at while standing in line for those Hole In The Mountain Farm pineapples.
Pillare Mukai came down to chat with Flora Worth on figuring out how to have an Easter egg hunt (yes, it’s coming up the week of Comic Con2!) at the Palm Court during the Wednesday market.
In the meantime, Laurie Ho and the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau (yes, Johnny Gordines was trying to figure out if he wanted some Hapa Ramen) is hosting an agricultural event (how many free veggie transplants from Ka‘apuni Nursery available?) on Saturday from 11 a.m. at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e, where Kaua‘i Community College’s Brian Yamamoto will be helping, and Rachel Secretario might share some of that agricultural trivia she learned from a visit to Jerry Ornellas’ farm.
