LIHU‘E — The Zonta Club of Kaua‘i, an international service organization of executives in business and professions, announced it has enhanced its scholarship program for high school women, and a Kaua‘i Community College scholarship for women who are reentering the workforce.
High school academic scholarships will be awarded to qualified graduating women in the amount of $1,000, or more, to qualifying candidates that are accepted by the Zonta Scholarship Committee.
Qualifications for applicants include being a high school graduate on Kaua‘i, and seeking to further their education.
The William and Marge Akana Scholarship will be awarded for $1,000 to an applicant pursuing a degree as a teacher in Elementary Education area, and hopefully, return to Kaua‘i.
Women returning to the workforce enrolled at the Kaua‘i Community College and continuing their education will be considered to receive a $1,000 scholarship by the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i Scholarship Committee.
Application forms are available online at www.zonta-kauai.org/scholarships.html. Deadline for the applications to be received for consideration is May 19.

In 2022, the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i awarded $12,000 to five scholarship awardees. In 2021, the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i presented three students a total of $9,000 in scholarships.
