Artist Patrice Pendarvis (she’s already got two pieces juried for the current Kaua‘i Society of Artists Spring Show, which runs from March 4-31 at Kukui Grove Center) said she’ll donate 10 percent of the “Elements” art show pieces to the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i Foundation scholarships through the end of March.
Patrice (no worries, the puppies are in the car, out of the sun) said “Elements” is her biggest show with 47 pieces, as she revisits with “great intent, waterscapes including patterns in the sand, reflections, movement, those lazy days, filling a bucket of sand and water, pouring it onto the paper.”
And the ebb and flow of life continues as she’s been juried to two other big shows, but not busy enough not to spend time with Edie Ignacio Neumiller of the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i, and Laurie Ho (big agricultural event coming up, March 25 at Kukui Grove Center), who stopped to have some Dark Horse Coffee (what? No Po‘ipu Estate?) and chat with the artist, who just happened to empty her water into a thirsty plant’s pot.
Patrice is able to meet with people during her demo days in watercolor, soft pastel, watercolor and torn Oriental papers, and acrylic on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m., and then from 1 to 4 p.m.
Shopping can be done during Dark Horse Coffee hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily to partially benefit the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i Foundation scholarships.
