Gloriana Y. ‘Nani’ Lane
Gloriana Y. “Nani” Lane, 83, of Mililani, O‘ahu, passed away on Feb. 14, 2023, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Sept. 9, 1939, in Kapa‘a. She worked as security at Lihu‘e Airport.
She was preceded in death by husband William J. Lane, stepson Harrison Lane, stepdaughter Cathy Marasco and grandson Nelson Au.
She is survived by daughters Shawn “Cookie” (Ron) Cummings Clerc, Ilima (Patrick) Lopez, Kendra Olds, Edwina Malia (Don) Cummings-Kimura, Billie Kay Lopes (Robert) Sheldon and Anela Lane (Jonathan) Kael, stepsons Michael Lane and William Lane, sister Alice Pacheco, 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is Thursday, April 6, at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort Jasmine Ballroom. Visitation with the family begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by service at 10:30 a.m.
Flora Carbonel Serrano
Flora Carbonel Serrano, 92, passed away on Feb. 25, 2023 in Lihu‘e. She was born on Dec. 20, 1930 in the Philippines. She was a teacher in the Philippines and in the pantry/food and beverage service at Stouffer Waiohai Hotel.
She was preceded in death by husband Teofilo Serrano Sr., brothers Bartolome, Julio, Alfredo Sr., Emilo, Eugenio, Ernesto and Daniel Carbonel, sisters Rosita Rivad, Fortunata Carbonel, Herminia Carbonel and Adelina Rivad.
She is survived by children Blesilda (Renato) Looc, Florante (Nilda) Serrano, Edgardo (Lisa) Serrano, Estrella (Rolando) Mendoza, Teofilo (Ofelia) Serrano Jr. and Aleili (Edgar Sr.) Bilgera, brother Rodolfo Carbonel, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
A service is Saturday, March 18, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., services at 10:30 a.m., and burial to follow at Koloa Public Cemetery.

Delwood Kalei Gardner
Delwood Kalei Gardner passed away on Feb. 16, 2023, at the age of 52.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1970, in Lihu‘e. He was a welder/iron worker and owner of Kalei’s Steelworks.
He was preceded in death by parents Clarence and Maverline “Nani” Gardner, brother Moses Lono Gardner and son Kody Kalei Gardner.
He is survived by wife Lanell Miyamoto of Kaua‘i, daughter Britney (Jarett) Fujioka of Kaua‘i, two grandchildren, brother Wayne (Raynette) Taniguchi of Kaua‘i, sister Raynette (Momilani) Gardner of Kaua‘i, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is at Kaua‘i Veterans Center on Saturday, April 15. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Kody Kalei Gardner
Kody Kalei Gardner passed away on Feb. 28, 2022, at the age of 22. He was born on July 1, 2000 in Lihu‘e.
He was preceded in death by father Delwood Kalei Gardner, grandparents Clarence and Maverline “Nani” Gardner and uncle Moses Lono Gardner.
He is survived by mother Lanell Miyamoto of Kaua‘i, sister Britney (Jarett) Fujioka of Kaua‘i, two nieces, grandparents Lon (Valerie) Miyamoto of Kaua‘i and Melanie (Roger) Espino Honjo of Nevada, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
A service is at Kaua‘i Veterans Center on Saturday, April 15. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m.

Ritchie Alexander Gentry
Ritchie Alexander Gentry, 93, of San Diego, passed away on Feb. 12, 2023. He was born on Jan. 16, 1930 in Waimanalo, O‘ahu. He was an accountant at Waimea Sugar, Olokele Sugar and McBryde Sugar companies. He was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Ada Gentry and sisters Helen (Gentry) Coffman and Patricia (Gentry) Horton. He is survived by wife Mary M. Gentry, “Jock” (Jolene) Gentry of Honoka‘a, Hawai‘i Island, hanai children Susan (Foster) Dunham, Stephanie (Foster) Funtanilla and Paul Foster, and five grandchildren. A service is Monday, May 1, at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, starting at 11 a.m. The family requests flowers be omitted.
