Wayne Medeiros starts a new page today (good thing we only had wind-blown scattered showers on Tuesday) as he starts his retirement following more than 30 years with Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e. Shirley Simbre-Medeiros (and where were all those musical kupuna?) was at the shopping center on Wayne’s last day. Happy retirement, Wayne!

Tracie Victorino of the Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union said the University of Hawai‘i (Alyssa Mae Antolin — the freshman is from Maui — set a new 200-meter record of 24.10 seconds on Feb. 3 in Washington!) poster girl’s aunty dropped in after seeing the poster on the floor of the credit union’s Kukui Grove Center branch.

Karin Panui (how many cats you feeding, Karin?) was at the Creators’ Fair at the Hilton Garden Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay on Sunday since her sister had to tend to the Mailelani tent at Edwin Vea’s Beach House restaurant craft fair in Kukui‘ula. Jakki Nelson was using her experience gained in Fast Company’s victory at the yacht races to juggle between customers and anchoring the tents against the brisk tradewinds that pelted both the Grove Farm Market on Saturday in Puhi, and the Creators’ Fair on Sunday.
