LIHU‘E — The Kapa‘a High School girls varsity basketball team, finishing its 2023 season as the undefeated state Division II champions, placed four players on the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federtation basketball All-Star team announced Friday.
Coach Neil Fagarang was selected as the Coach of the Year, and Kapa‘a High School junior Olivia Malafu, finishing the DII state tournament as Most Valuable Player, was named the KIF Player of the Year.
The Kaua‘i High School boys varsity basketball team, finishing the state Division II tournament in third place, placed three players, two juniors and a senior, on the boys All-Star team, with Raider Coach Ipo Yoshioka named Coach of the Year.
Kapa‘a High School, which came back strong in the KIF second round, finished with its junior guard Keaka Kauhane getting Player of the Year nod, and senior Mikey Questin getting named to the All-Star list.
