Kudos and mahalo, Sarah Tochiki and the Kaua‘i Community College Orchestra, for the Sunday presentation of appropriate Presidents’ Day music at the Kukui Grove Center food court in Lihu‘e that was filled with lunchgoers, a few even succumbing to the strains of “The Chicken Dance” to get involved. Sarah said she’ll be back with the KCC Jazz Ensemble on the next presentation that has no date set.

Bill Spitz is waiting for Laurie Ho of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau, and the Kaua‘i Family and Community Education, to visit the Kaua‘i Quilt Show that ends today.
Kudos to Kaua‘i County Council Chair Mel Rapozo (he got to see the quilt made by his cousin Teresa Nero) on announcing the People’s Choice winners that were voted on by the 2,000 people who went through the show since it opened before Valentine’s Day.
Congratulations to quilt show winners Lesley Morris, Lea Ingram and Vicky Masuoka (doesn’t this win warrant a free McDonald’s burger, Sally Cravens?), and happy birthday, Kathy Stack, who got to spend part of her special day amid all of the excitement of the Kaua‘i Quilt Show.
And, there was no Sharron Weber to capture Kathy on her birthday like she did when her husband Patrick Stack was enjoying his birthday at Orly’s Patisserie with Helen Yamaguchi when Sharron rolled up.
Happy birthday, George Washington (and all the other American presidents who followed him)!
