Kudos, Tom Freestone (never saw Kellie Hines, and Hua Duncan was off-island) and the Ocean Course at Hokuala on hosting the 46th John Burns Intercollegiate golf tournament that played through pretty rainy conditions … loved Tom’s wheels he used to check out the action at the 16th hole.

Mahalo, Melissa Dupree (normally she does golf at Ka‘anapali on Maui) for helping keep track of the golfers, who pushed for 27 holes on Thursday to try and avoid the anticipated weather.
More kudos to Kaua‘i Community College Interim Chancellor Margaret Sanchez and her 20-member organizing committee on hosting the Find Your Future student orientation event for more than 200 11th and 12th grade students. Marty Amaro (congratulations on your recent wedding!) said when the visiting chefs come this week, it’s the same thing except the recipients are culinary arts students. Great job creating that ice cream using liquid nitrogen, Chef Steve Nakata and the culinary arts crew.
Did you check out the Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala pop-up that closes Sunday at 4 p.m.? Laurie Ho said they have kupe‘e shell jewelry from a jewelry vendor from Kona (the kupe‘e shell maker is from Tonga), and Manaola (did social influencer Edie Ignacio Neumiller check out the latest releases?) was a victim of spellcheck. Of course, it’s a treat to hear Hi‘ipoi Kanahele do the unique Ni‘ihau music, and Courtney Wilson of Shiprek Hawai‘i was happy to have a roof over her head.
