HA‘ENA — The state Department of Transportation announced a possible right lane closure for grass cutting on Kuhio Highway in either direction, between mile markers 1 to 9, in the vicinity of Ohiki Road and Ha‘ena Beach Park, on Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kapa‘a
• Portions of Kawaihau and Pelehu roads will be closed from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, sidewalk construction and roadway construction, in a project that aims to construct a peanut-shaped roundabout. Pelehu Road will be closed from Kawaihau Road to Nunu Road. Traffic is limited to residents in the closed roadway area.
Kilauea
• A right lane closure for grass cutting on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 21 to 25, in the vicinity of Waiakalua Street and the Kalihiwai River, on Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wailua
• A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway are possible in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements;
• A single right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in the northbound direction between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road, on Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for guardrail installation and surveying;
• Nightly two-lane closures of Kuhio Highway are possible in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road, on Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.
• A single right lane closure for paving on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in the westbound direction between mile marker 0 to 0.6, in the vicinity of Wailua Road, from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Lihu‘e
• A single right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway is possible in either direction between mile points 0 and 0.1, vicinity of Rice Street, starting nightly at 10 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. the following morning. The first lane closure for permitted utility work will begin Monday, Feb. 20, and the last nightly closure will end at 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24;
• A single right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in the southbound direction, between mile points 0.2 and 0.6, Kali Road to Eha Street, starting nightly at 10 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m. the following morning. The first lane closure for permitted utility work will begin Monday, Feb. 20, and last nightly closure will end at 5 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24.
Lawa‘i
• A single right closure for grass trimming and guardrail clearing on Kaumuali‘i Highway is possible in the eastbound direction between mile marker 8 to 10, between Maluhia Road and Koloa Road, from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Waimea
• A single right lane closure for tree trimming on Waimea Canyon Drive is possible in either direction, between mile markers 10 to 14, in the vicinity of Papa‘alai Road and Makaha Ridge Road, from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 21 to 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
