LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i shipment of Girl Scout cookies for 2023 arrived at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center, serving as notice that customers who preordered their annual stash from Girl Scouts will be getting their orders, soon.
“This might not look like it’s much, but we increased our order by about 17 percent,” said Angela Hoover, the Kaua‘i Girl Scout programs coordinator. “This is 500 cartons of cookies that includes all nine flavors.”
The shipment also signals the start of site sales by participating Girl Scout troops.
Normally, Girl Scout cookie customers will turn to the digital cookie found on the gshawaii.org website to locate a source for their favorite flavor. However, in the interest of customer convenience, Hoover said booth sales will take place as early as Friday afternoon and evening at the Foodland store in Princeville, and the Big Save store in Hanalei.
“These two sites will also be open during the weekend,” Hoover said. “Additionally, the Big Save store in Koloa will open Saturday. Walmart in Lihu‘e will have troops doing booth sales on Saturday, and Sunday. We also expect Safeway store in the Hokulei Shopping Village to come online in the very near future.”
All nine flavors, including Adventurefuls, the perennially-popular Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Lemon-Ups, Girl Scout S’mores, and Toffee-tastic will be available based on troop supply.
Raspberry Rally, the newest flavor of Girl Scout cookie, is available online only and shipped directly to the purchaser.
For the sake of convenience, all Girl Scout cookie boxes are available at $6 each with all of the money raised by Kaua‘i cookie sales staying on the island to help the island’s Girl Scout program.
The Girl Scout cookie program that teaches Girl Scouts business, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills along with life skills is the signature fundraising event for Girl Scouts.
Hoover suggested people shop early for their favorite flavors of Girl Scout cookies because the final day for Girl Scout cookie sales is March 26, or as supplies become exhausted.
