Leilani Rivera Low (condolences on the passing of Uncle Larry), the daughter of Larry Rivera and Kumu Hula of Halau Hula ‘O Leilani, will be hosting its 29th annual Ho‘ike Hula Concert on Saturday with special guests The Makaha Sons (are they going to do “Kamalani?”), Fire Knife Champion Prince Lanikaula, and a variety of arts and crafts at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. Crafters will be available from 4 p.m., and doors to the show open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.

Leilani was grabbing coffee after coming off a radio appearance on Thursday and was waiting on the arrival of USAHawai‘i Federal Credit Union VIPs John Mo Melenda, the HawaiiUSA FCU’s Chief Financial Officer, and Greg Chang, the Hawai‘iUSA’s Chief Operating Officer, who were coming to meet with some of Kaua‘i’s community leaders over breakfast coordinated by Karen Shigemoto.
Coming off the heels of Chinese New Year — February is Valentine’s Day and The Grove Farm Market will be hosting its variety of crafters that will have lots of Valentine shopping on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Puhi open field behind Kaua‘i Harley Davidson. The crafters will be joining the regular market vendors, who will be back in stock from all the Chinese New Year celebrations,… Laurie Ho of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau is already planning for the two-day Agricultural Festival coming up June 17 and 18 (it’s the week following Kamehameha Day observance) at the North Vidinha soccer fields.
