LIHU‘E — Kawaihau needed three extra innings to chip out an 18-16 edge over the Lihu‘e A’s for the team’s first win on Saturday as the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League returned to the fields following a weekend of rained out contests.
Barteks, currently leading the first round standings with three wins and no losses, defeated Imi‘Ola, 11-4, at Kaumakani, where Makos outgained the Bushwackas, 19-13.
This Saturday, Makos, currently 2 wins and 1 loss in the standings, open action at Puhi Park with a 9 a.m. contest against the Rookies, who were excused from play due to attending a funeral service.
Over at ‘Ele‘ele Park, West Kaua‘i, currently with no wins and two losses in the standings, opens against Solid Steel in a 9 a.m. showdown.
