LIHU‘E — County Department of Finance officials said in a press release that the second installment of real property taxes for the 2022-23 tax year is due on Feb. 20.
Feb. 20 falls on the Presidents Day Holiday, so taxpayers get an extra day to pay, by Tuesday, Feb. 21, to avoid any penalty.
Bills were mailed out on Jan. 20. Those who have not received bills should call the department’s Real Property Collections Division at 808-241-4272.
Payments can be made online at https://kauairpt.ehawaii.gov; by mail, in person, or at the drop box located outside the Kapule Building of the Lihu‘e Civic Center. Checks should be made payable to the Director of Finance.
No appointments are necessary to visit the Real Property Collections office.
Failure to pay real property taxes in full by Feb. 21 will result in a 10% penalty, as well as 12% interest per year.
