KALIHIWAI – The county Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupono Builders announced that portions of Kahiliholo Road and Kamo‘okoa Road will be closed Monday to Friday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 3, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for road resurfacing work. Kamo‘okoa Road will be affected on Jan. 30 and Kahiliholo Road will be affected from Jan. 31 to Feb 3.
Waikoko
• A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 4.2 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Point and Waikoko Bridge, on Monday, Jan. 30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., to survey slope work of the installed draped mesh.
Princeville
• A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 0.49 to 1.15, in the vicinity of Ohiki Road and Hanalei Plantation Road, on Monday, Jan. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
Kapa‘a
• A portion of Kawaihau Road will be closed from Monday to Friday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 3, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, sidewalk construction and roadway construction. The project aims to construct a peanut-shaped roundabout, sidewalks, paved shoulders and various other roadway improvements with an estimated completion date of July 2023.
Wailua
• A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in the northbound direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road, from Monday to Friday, Jan. 30 to Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for guardrail surveying and installation as a part of the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements;
• Nightly two-lane closures of Kuhio Highway are possible in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road from Sunday, Jan. 29 to Friday, Feb. 3, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. Two-way traffic will be maintained by contraflow of one northbound lane;
• A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway are possible in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.
Kalaheo
• A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway is possible in the eastbound direction between mile marker 7.7 to 13.1, in the vicinity of Halewili Road and entrance to the ‘Oma‘o multi-use track, from Monday, Jan. 30 through Friday, Feb. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for grass cutting.
