LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i United Way 2022 Campaign got a big boost when First Hawaiian Bank, represented by Leland Kahawai, Samking Braima, and Liane Sasan, presented a $20,000 contribution to the Kaua‘i United Way on Wednesday.
The contribution goes toward the KUW 2022 Campaign, chaired by Tim Takeshita of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, that has a goal of raising $600,000 to benefit its Partner Agencies.
“We really appreciate First Hawaiian Bank,” said Lori Almarza, the acting director for the Kaua‘i United Way. “Not only for this contribution toward the campaign, but for its support of the Kaua‘i United Way and our Partner Agencies.”
Kaua‘i United Way Campaign Development Director Lynnette Medrano-Stine said, traditionally, the campaign closes by the end of the year. However, as the island slowly comes out of the COVID-19 pandemic, contributors are needing some extra time to finalize their donations.
“We’re at 78 percent of our $600,000 goal,” Medrano-Stine said. “Individuals and businesses finding that they are able to contribute to the campaign can still do so while the donations wrap up for this campaign. Remember, all the funds that are raised on Kaua‘i stays on Kaua‘i to help its people.”
