KALIHIWAI — The county Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupono Builders announced that portions of Halaulani Road and Kahiliholo Road in Kalihiwai will be closed from Monday, Dec. 19 to Friday, Jan. 13, weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for road resurfacing work.

There will be no work on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 in observance of the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays, respectively.
One-lane closures will occur as follows: Halaulani Road, Dec. 19 to Dec. 21; and Kalihiholo Road, Dec. 21 to Jan. 13.
Kapa‘a
• Portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed, and temporary detours will be put in place, from now to Friday, Dec. 30, as construction of a new five-road intersection continues.
Wailua
• A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway will occur in the southbound direction, between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway will occur in the northbound bound direction, at mile marker 5.9 to 6.6, between the Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road, on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 21 and 22, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for highway reconstruction and repaving for Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. After the holidays, work on Kuhio Highway will resume on Jan. 3 as night work.
