Kylie Kuhlmann (remember her from Kaua‘i High School soccer? That started on Saturday too!) and Donya McKnight of Little McKFarm said the plushes are “just for Christmas,” on Saturday when more than 50 other craft vendors joined the regular vendors at the Grove Farm Market in Puhi.

No wonder Coach Beau Acoba — his Waimea girls soccer were playing Island School in varsity soccer, too — had to use the Mule to shuttle ‘opala. The Hawai‘i Government Employees Association people from O‘ahu and Maui — they came for the Lights on Rice parade on Friday in Lihu‘e — knew where the shade was.
Dr. Monty Downs (he was doing entertainment) was not aware of Peach Alpeche and the Holiday Market benefiting Kaua‘i Hospice, and how come nobody said anything about the HGEA bake sale (oh, they were on the other side of town)? Attalia and Eric Alverdes of the Wailua Creators’ Fair (the next one is Dec. 11 from 8:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay, where Rodney Sagucio and Shaka Burgers are going to be) had a chance to be shoppers.
Kudos, Thomas Nizo and the historic Waimea Theatre people on the lighting of Hofgaard Park (Bridget Orsatelli did a more than fantastic job with the “Ocean” selfie station that could accommodate more than all her “rodeo kids.” The lights will be on through the holidays, especially on Dec. 17 when Nizo and company host the return of the Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade, when the roads through Waimea shut down from 5:30 p.m.
Little McKFarm will next be at Friday Art Night in Hanapepe, and the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market on Saturday night. No lights on Bikes on Rice — the lights were on the bikes during the Lights on Rice parade.
