Starting Wednesday, shoppers to the weekly Kaua‘i Culinary Market (renamed the Pop-Up Farmers Market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula during the COVID-19 pandemic), can enjoy live holiday music and meet Santa at the Palm Court at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.
No reservations are needed. Donations of canned food and other nonperishable items, like rice and pasta, as well as cash donations benefiting the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, are greatly appreciated. Photos can be done at Santa’s Hale, and if lucky may coincide with the daily snowfall.
On Dec. 9, Santa will be part of the Holiday Bash, described as “a very merry Flavors of Kukui‘ula event with a live concert by John Rivera Collective and an opportunity to visit with Santa.”
“We are excited to bring back Holiday Bash, and partner with the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank to support families in need in our community,” said Stacie Chiba-Miguel, the regional manager for mall owner Alexander &Baldwin. “We look forward to celebrating with our guests and spreading some holiday cheer.”
As part of Kaua‘i’s largest family-friendly pau hana party, the Flavors of Kukui‘ula will offer culinary “street food” delights from participating restaurants at the center, as well as a variety of refreshments.
This year’s holiday celebrations benefit the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank. Center leaders are encouraging a donation of cash or canned food or nonperishable food for participation in the Holiday Bash and other events. The requested minimum donation is five unopened canned foods or $10 cash that will go toward the KIFB Holiday Food and Fund Drive that continues through Dec. 31.
