“Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go?”
Bill Spitz and the “Friday gang” braved the Black Friday crowd to have their morning session at the Kukui Grove Center food court (they said the action was happening at the Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i tent). Yes, Sara Miura, Santa did come — scored one of those collectible first customers shirt!
Kudos, Stacie Chiba-Miguel and Pillare Mukai,on getting that new “Aloha” selfie station secured in time for the Black Friday audience (what was in that hydration station, anyway?), where Santa (he’s definitely getting busy) braved the blizzard fo all those unique holiday photos.
And, hopefully, Mark Oyama (great job with cooking all that food — 1,600 meals? — for the Kapa‘a Interfaith Association Thanksgiving meal!) is having fun at the University of Hawai‘i and San Jose State football game in California, where he said he was going to go after cooking and cleaning up all the dishes.
Kudos, Meghan Matsuda and All Red Eye (that’s what happens when you spend the whole day surfing, Meghan said) Hawai‘i pop-up that’s going to be next to Jamba Juice until Sunday (yikes, just a few hours left) as part of the Black Friday madness. Nope, no fish tacos here. Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said it’s all about the caps. Nah, gotta go find me one of those Andy Bestwick’s “CAN” ones.
No, we didn’t blow away, although there were some kukui nut trees along Maluhia Road that lost more than a few big branches in all that wind (it could’ve waited until Cyber Monday when everybody is inside).
