Heide H. Lardizabal
Heide H. Lardizabal passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2022 in Wailua, at the age of 82. She was born in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 25, 1939. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a butler in Princeville, a carriage driver for The Westin, a cashier at The Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Regency Resort & Spa, handled intake for the YWCA, and was a waitress for the Spindrifter.
She was preceded in death by parents Kate and Hans Hensen, husband Alfred C. Lardizabal, brother Uwe Hensen, brothers-in-law Maurice Lardizabal Jr., Glenn Lardizabal and David Ibsen, and grandson Isaac Kanealama Lardizabal.
She is survived by children Perry (Dee) Lardizabal and Sonya (Jess) Lardizabal-Quel, grandchildren Ashley (Kevin) Cramer, Mariah Pai, Kaileen Lardizabal, Mikelle and Chelsi Quel and Kailee Loa Sugihara, great-grandchildren Kaisen Yanos and Braden and Kaylee Ramos, sisters-in-law Charlene Arita, Carmen Mercado, Florence Lardizabal and Maureen Octavio, brother-in-law Scott Lardizabal, and many more family and friends.
A celebration of life for both Alfred and Heide Lardizabal is Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Kapa‘a Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation with family will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and service to follow.
The family would like to thank Kaua‘i Hospice, the Kapa‘a, Lawa‘i, Wai‘anae and Central Seventh Day Adventist Churches for their love, support and prayers.

Eileen Meu Lin Chai Miyasato
Eileen Meu Lin Chai Miyasato, 77, of Lihu‘e, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 25, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on Sept. 24, 1945, in Kailua, O‘ahu. She was a dressmaker for over 50 years and a sewing instructor for over 30 years. She ran a sewing school called Aunty Eileen’s Sewing School in Lihu‘e. She was an active member of Kaua‘i Bible Church in ‘Oma‘o.
She was preceded in death by parents James and Beatrice Chai.
She is survived by husband of 52 years Barry Miyasato of Lihu‘e, sons David (Estelle) Miyasato, Daniel (Kristi) Miyasato and Darryl (Reiko) Miyasato, six grandchildren, sisters Elizabeth Au and Eleanor Chang, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A celebration of life is Friday, Nov 18, at Kaua‘i Veterans Center, with visitation at 1:30 p.m. and service at 3 p.m.

George Sydney Farmer
George Sydney Farmer passed away on Oct. 26, 2022, in Lihu‘e at the age of 97. He was born on Oct. 16, 1925, in Spokane, Washington.
He was preceded in death by wife Heather Farmer, sons Timothy and Kurt Farmer and daughter Melinda Farmer.
He is survived by son Howard (Keiko) Farmer of Lihu‘e and grandchild Corey Konik.
Donations may be be made to Kaua‘i Hospice.

Earl Tsugio Miyao
Earl Tsugio Miyao passed away on Sept. 1, 2022, at his residence in Lawa‘i, at the age of 70. He was born on Feb. 6, 1952, in Lihu‘e. He was retired.
He was preceded in death by parents Nichi Miyao and Pansy Miyao, brother Warren Miyao, sister Helene Tada and nephew Delrick Tada.
He is survived by niece Melanie (Tyrus) Matsumoto of Lihu‘e, grand-nephew Kristian Matsumoto of Lihu‘e, brother Winston (Marian) Ogata of Lihu‘e, and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Garden Island Mortuary. Visitation is from 2 to 3:30 p.m. followed by service at 3:30 p.m.

EJ Nalani Iwasaki
EJ Nalani Iwasaki, 73, passed away on Oct. 14, 2022, on Maui. Affectionately known as Aunty “Na,” she was born July 26, 1949, in Honolulu. She worked in the hotel services industry in different capacities on the islands of O‘ahu and Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by father Joseph Wayne Benson, mother Lydia Benson and sister Donna Benson.
She is survived by sons Kaleo and T.J. Iwasaki, brothers Wayne Benson of Galt, California and John and Renee Benson of Kane‘ohe, sister Jo-Ann Benson of Honolulu, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at St. Augustine Church in Waikiki. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:50 a.m., eulogy at 9:50 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. The scattering of ashes will be for immediate family only. The family requests aloha attire.
Helena M. Bustillos
Helena M. Bustillos, 89, of Hanama‘ulu, peacefully passed away on Oct. 24, 2022, at Pali Momi Medical Center on O‘ahu. She was born on Feb. 3, 1933, in Lihu‘e and retired from the Elsie H. Wilcox Elementary School maintenance department.
She was preceded in death by parents Erenia and Francisco Malbas, husband Feliciano Bustillos and sister Corazon Bantolinao.
She is survived by children Andrew (Ann) Bustillos, Aileen (George, deceased) Kupihea, Larena (John McDonald) Bustillos and Eugene (Anna) Bustillos, grandchildren Stanford (Kerri) Bustillos, Aaron (Lucinda, deceased) Bustillos, Andie Bustillos, Dominique (Sheldon) Gallarde, Helena (Dave) Sundberg, Carl (Christina) Kupihea, Rachel Bustillos and Katie Arzaga, nine great-grandchildren, sisters Roquina Tagara and Cipriana Fernandez, and relatives of the Malbas and Bustillos families.
A celebration of life is Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 9 a.m., eulogy at 9:45 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Wearing masks in church is appreciated. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
