LIHU‘E — After several days of teasing with samples and glimpses of the brightly color interior, Rose’s Halo Halo officially opened its doors Tuesday morning before a crowd anxious to try the halo halo offerings at Kukui Grove Center.
“Rose Garabilla has her own recipe for this popular Filipino dessert,” said Melissa McFerrin-Warrack of KGC. “I suggested she bring it to the shopping center where everyone can enjoy the popular dessert offerings.”
Rose’s Halo Halo is located adjacent to Rose’s Pinoy Favorites, and is Garabilla’s second shop at the shopping center. It is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with weekend hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In addition to the eight variations of halo halo flavors, the shop features a wide assortment of packaged snack and dessert foods.
McFerrin-Warrack said in addition to Rose’s Halo Halo, another shop, Curvaceous Clothing, is planning to open its doors this weekend.
“We have a blessing at 9 a.m. followed by a soft opening for family Saturday,” McFerrin-Warrack said. “There’s a grand opening at 10 a.m. with refreshments, gift bags and giveaways.”
Curvaceous Clothing, that brings women’s plus sizes to Kukui Grove, is a true start-from-scratch enterprise because it is getting the help of Robbie Melton of the Small Business Development Center to get off the ground.
