Kudos to the Kalaheo Dental Group and its Halloween candy buyback program (too much wind this year; they brought it inside) that netted a big box of treats to be sent to the armed forces serving overseas!
Kudos to the Kalaheo Dental Group and its Halloween candy buyback program (too much wind this year; they brought it inside) that netted a big box of treats to be sent to the armed forces serving overseas!
And more kudos to the Kaua‘i Community College committee on organizing and hosting the Seventh annual Health Fair on the Puhi campus that featured more than a dozen community groups like the American Red Cross, Kaua‘i Roller Derby and more, six campus groups like the Disability and Veterans Support, PAU Violence, Hale Malama and nursing program doing a bunch of presentations, including getting the help of Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i in leading the outdoor Zumba.
The health fair also coincided with the opening of the KCC cafeteria (separate from fine dining), where you can get hot food again!
The ballroom dancers at the Aloha Friday night at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e are in for a pleasant surprise when the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Brass Band plays at 6 p.m. at the food court. They’ll get additional members to be ready for the Veterans Day Parade that takes place Saturday at 9 a.m. Note the shortened route from the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall parking lot to the Vidinha Stadium north fields.
And, make time to stop by the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at KGC for a look at the fine work of Penny Nichols’ and Toni Wagner’s students in painting and ceramics. Hurry, the show ends Tuesday!
