Marina Caberto Igne
Marina Caberto Igne, of Kaumakani, passed away on Oct. 19, 2022, in Waimea at the age of 90. She was born on Feb. 17, 1932, in Hanama‘ulu. She was a retired cashier with Waimea Big Save.
She was preceded in death by husband Emilio Igne, parents Gregorio and Eulogia Caberto, sister Apolonia Basquez, brother Billy Caberto and grandson Taylor Ramos.
She is survived by sons James (Christine) Igne of Cashmere, Washington, Michael (Cindy Marie) Igne of Kaumakani and Sean (Chlorie) Igne of ‘Ele‘ele, daughter Joni Ann (Allan) Ramos of Lihu‘e, sisters Janet Haffner of Kekaha and Georgia Fernandez of Kekaha, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life services are Saturday, Nov. 5, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. and prayer service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The family requests casual attire. Lei can be brought in her memory to add to the memory branches.

Robert Charles Moss
Robert Charles Moss, 73, of Kekaha, passed away on Oct. 23, 2022. He was born on Jan. 1, 1949, in Aurora, Illinois. He was a musician and a Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by wife Kathleen Moss, daughter Gina Scripture and stepson Austin Zimmerman.
He is survived by son Andy (Betsy) Moss, daughter Sara (Terry) Dennison, four grandchildren, sisters Patricia Usry, Vicki Nagy and Vivian Balder, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Nov. 5, at Salt Pond Beach Park main pavilion in Hanapepe from noon to 5 p.m. The family requests casual attire.

Theodore Vincente Castillo
Theodore Vincente Castillo passed away on Oct. 17, 2022, in Kapa‘a at the age of 75. He was born on May 22, 1947, in Waimea. He was a telephone lineman for Pacific Bell and served during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by father Isidoro Castillo, mother Helen Perreira, brother David J. Castillo and sister Yvonne Castillo Gibson.
He is survived by wife Celeste Castillo of Wailua, stepson Joseph (Kehau Durant) Ornellas of Koloa, daughter Jodi (Derek) Castillo Boni of Chico, California, stepdaughters Lavanna (Joseph Sr.) LaBarbera of Hanapepe and Tiffany (James) Lupton of Tacoma, Washington, one grandchild, six step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brother Gerald (Myra) Castillo of Riverdale, Georgia, sister Judy (Hamilton) Rodrigues of Las Vegas, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Friday, Nov. 11, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation with family is from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by services at 5 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m.
The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Elsie Taeko Takata
The celebration of life gathering for Elsie Taeko Takata is Saturday, Nov. 5, at Niumalu Canoe Club, Kalapaki Beach (behind the ABC Store).
The informal service starts at noon, and includes an open mic for anyone who would like to share a memory or anything. Lunch and homegrown entertainment will follow. All are welcome to share talents.
It was her wish to have that one more reunion gathering.
