LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery buzzed with activity on Sunday, as participating artists brought in their creations for the “Come Together, A Collaborative Art Exhibit” show that opens Wednesday at the KSA gallery at Kukui Grove Center.
LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery buzzed with activity on Sunday, as participating artists brought in their creations for the “Come Together, A Collaborative Art Exhibit” show that opens Wednesday at the KSA gallery at Kukui Grove Center.
The exhibit will feature works by students of local artists Penny Nichols and Toni Wagner and will feature a preopening reception, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. where people can meet the artists ahead of the opening that takes place on Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m.
“This is a short exhibition,” Nichols said. “We’re here for just a week with the last day being Nov. 7. The students pick up their work on Nov. 8.”
The host artists will be joined by their students in gallery sitting the exhibition with Nichols sitting on Nov. 2, 4, and 6. She will be alternated with Wagner and students on Nov. 3, 5, and 7. Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m., except Friday when the exhibit will be available from noon to 8 p.m.
Nichols is known for her portraits, landscapes and painting, while Wagner is known for her ceramic art.
There is no admission to view the artwork or talk story with the artists.
