Fall festival madness is in the air, but there is still time to catch the Trunk or Treat presented by the Kaua‘i Resilience Project and Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e.
Preregistered revelers can go at 3 p.m. Sunday, said Tiffany Dodge of the Aloha Dance Studios, that presented its final Freaky Friday event for 2022. All others can start at 4 p.m. (lots of time to have the car washed by the Kapa‘a High School JROTC, who are trying to raise funds to start the school’s Raider team to compete at the Maui Challenge competition. The car wash starts at 8 a.m.).
Kudos to the COGS team at the Kaua‘i Community College on hosting students from the Kawaikini New Century Public Charter School and Island School for their engaging light show. And mahalo Distance Education coordinator Kyoko Ikeda-Chun for having those exchange students from three universities in Japan help with shepherding the amped-up students and providing the window for cooling down while they waited for the rest of their class.
Kudos, Victoria Lam and Eric Larsen on the great Halloween at the library for the young readers. Hopefully, Lani Kawahara got a lot of people to take in the free tarot card event on Friday. And there’s always that great local Ukraine poetry section to check out,
Another young people (4 years and under) event takes place on Monday (that’s the real Halloween), when Wilcox and Kaua‘i Medical Center welcome people back to its 16th Halloween Keiki Parade at noon.
The Hawai‘i Health Systems Corporation Kaua‘i Region is also hosting a Halloween parade at the West Kaua‘i facility at the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the same time.
