Following are this week’s synopses of shows on KBFD TV, which televises Korean dramas with English subtitles:
Weekly Update
The 42nd Hawai‘i International Film Festival presented by Halekulani Spotlight on Korea will have 14 total in the programming lineup. Actor and now Director June Woo-Sung will be in attendance for “A Man of Reason.” Jung’s first visit to HIFF was in 2008 to receive the Achievement in Acting Award. The Centerpiece Presentation is “Hunt,” starring Lee Jung-jae, who is also making his directorial debut but will not be in attendance. Jung is also starring in “Hunt” as the main character. The Closing Night Film is “Broker,” starring Song Kang Ho, who has visited HIFF in 2002 for “YMCA Baseball Team.”
“Dearest Lady”
Episode 105, 106, 107 and 108 (Sun.)
Today, 6:40 p.m.: Chairman Baek’s secret is revealed. He believes Kang-ho is pretending not to know him. Woo-hyuk tries to get closer to Ah-jung whereas she tries to keep her distance. An elderly lady takes Jean-paul’s hands crying that they are related. Ah-reum and Heung-gia vie for funding. They anxiously await for the results. Kang-ho asks Bong-gil for Man-seok’s schedule to look for the slush fund ledger.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Ah-jung overhears Woo-hyuk’s phone conversation about his moving. She dwells herself in drinks at knowing his reason is to avoid her. Prosecutors’ office raid Kang-ho’s office and takes him custody. Ae-sun cries out asking why Man-seok would drive Kang-ho to the edge like this. Heung-gia can’t be happier seeing Kang-ho in such a predicament. Woo-hyuk asks Ah-jung for her hand in marriage. But he’s not he only one who has marriage in mind…
“Goodbye To Goodbye”

Monday, 6:45 p.m.: Rumors start about Jung Hyo’s pregnancy. Rumors beget rumors and it circulates like wildfire. Jung Hyo breaks down in tears hearing outrageous rumors about her. Se-young flips out seeing Young Hee with Yoo Yeon.
Tuesday, 6:50 p.m.: Sang Jin is pressured to get divorced by Se Young’s mother. Se Young tells her mother she won’t live like her. Min Soo takes Jung Hyo out to lunch and tells her he wants things as they were. Min Soo tries to talk Jung Hyo out of keeping the baby. Ok Ja barges into Young Hee’s.
“Secret House”
Episodes 21 and 22 (Wed.); Episodes 23 and 24 (Thur.)
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Ji-hwan finds out Tae-hyung is involved in his mother and sister’s demise. Tae-hee realize what her mother and brother did. Ji-hwan searches all the hospitals and care home to gather information about his mother. Tae-hyung is on the edge as he’s about the enter a political ring. Ji-hwan visits Tae-hyung’s house and tell his family he’s at the edge of finding his mother. This lie causes Tae-hyung a great anxiety and Sook-jin tries to calm him down.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Ji-hwan receives news of his mother’s death and is thrown into a shock. Tae-hyung and Sook-jin celebrate their victory. Ji-hwan accuses Tae-hyung of killing his mother. Joo-hong’s father agonizes over death of Kyeong-seon. He felt guilty for not coming forward about the auto accident.
“Uncontrollably Fondness”

Friday, 7:50 p.m.: Junyeong, a law school student, and No Eul meet again at a campaign headquarter. Junyeong, who had feelings for No Eul, learns of No Eul and Assemblyman Choi’s ill-fate. No Eul is forced into playing the part of Jun Yeong’s girlfriend.
Saturday, 7:50 p.m.: No Eul faints seeing Pororo in front of Jun Yeong’s house. Jitae find out No Eul was working on Jun Yeong’s documentary. Junyeong find out he doesn’t have many days left. He decides to help No Eul when he realizes she’s in danger.
