LIHU‘E — The second phase of a repaving project at Lihu‘e Airport is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 24, the state Department of Transportation Airports Division said in a statement.
The upcoming work on the Lihu‘e Airport Public Parking Lot Repaving project will include milling and new asphalt, as well as striping work on the remainder of the main public parking lot.
The work will take approximately three weeks to be completed, with an end target date of Saturday, Nov. 12, weather permitting. As a result, there will be fewer public parking spaces available during the three-week period.
“During this timeframe, the public is strongly encouraged to consider having a family friend, or taxi/Uber/Lyft drop you off/pickup when possible,” the department said in a statement on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Barricades, signage and yellow caution tape will be posted around the perimeter of the upcoming phase of work. Additionally, any motorists who attempt to park illegally within a posted and barricaded area may be towed at their expense.
Tsst…you don’t have anything politician. 10,826 ft. runway extension would have been good. This improvement means nothing.
I don’t know how it is in Cebu-Mactan, Philippines. Their airport was built by US military in 1956. The longer the runway the better. I’m not a flight attendant. But it does appear they have a league of their own. I mean 20 years of flying inter-island and mainland is a pretty good place to be, They should know when an airline is going to crash. I guess few people agree with them. Not care about runway length. Just me giving something to them.
