Arlene Evalani Chun
Arlene Evalani Chun, 71, of Kekaha, passed away on Aug. 29, 2022, in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was born on Nov. 28, 1950, on O‘ahu. She retired as a clerk at the U.S. Navy Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands.
She was preceded in death by husband Ronald Chun, mother Dora Ingraham, father George Ingraham, mother-in-law Gladys Chun and father-in-law Edward Chun.
She is survived by daughters Ronda Chun of Delray Beach, Florida, Crystal (Michael) Shimatsu of Waimea, Jamie (Bryan) Fandrich of Billings, Montana, son Aaron (Jennifer) Chun of O‘ahu, seven grandchildren, brother Jerome Ingraham of O‘ahu and sister Janice Ingraham of O‘ahu.
A service is Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha, with viewing from 9 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m. A celebration of life to follow at Kekaha Gardens Park on Uliuli Street in Kekaha. The family suggests aloha attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
Leimomi Bal Crowell
Leimomi Bal Crowell, 83, of Kekaha, passed away on Oct. 8, 2022. She was born on July 31, 1939, in Honolulu.
She was preceded in death by her husband William O. Crowell, granddaughter Breanna Wilson-Crowell and parents James and Mary Lung Bal.
She is survived by children Mark Kimo KC Crowell, Drew Kaleianaole Crowell and Michelle Kanoelani (Darren) Curammeng, sister Janet Kahaunani Landfried, brother Edward F. (Sue) Bal, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Oct. 23, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kekaha at 1 p.m. Services begin at 1:30 p.m. Private interment will occur at a later date.
The family requests casual attire. Face masks are required, and hand sanitizer will be provided.
Doug Rasmussen
Doug Rasmussen passed away on Sept. 30, 2022, in Kekaha, at the age of 67. He was born on Sept. 16, 1955, in Alameda, California.
He was preceded in death by parents George F. and Leila Rasmussen.
He is survived by wife Janet S. Rasmussen of Kekaha, sister Georgene Rasmussen and two nieces.

Eleanor Kailianu
Akita Mihal
Eleanor Kailianu Akita Mihal passed away on Oct. 6, 2022, at home. She was born on Nov. 3, 1924, in Waimea. She was the fifth child and the second daughter of her family of eight children.
She was preceded in death by husband Joseph Michael Mihal, parents Joseph Junkichi Akita and Alice Moha Maka‘awa‘awa, siblings Edith Akita, Joseph Akita Jr., Solomon Akita Ono and Linberg (Lindy) Akita, and brother-in-law Ted Zenger.
She is survived by sister Alice Akita Zenger, brother Norman (Shirley) Akita, daughters Mary Lockcey Tirado-Goravica of Kekaha, Christine Theresa Kealaonaona (Brad) Wardle of Fruitland, Utah and Alna Linda Opu‘ulani (David) Mecham of Kekaha. Her posterity includes grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Private services will be held at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Frances Fujie Kanekiyo
Frances Fujie Kanekiyo, of Hanapepe, passed away on June 11, 2022 at the age of 100. She was a retired elementary school teacher at ‘Ele‘ele School.
She was preceded in death by husband William T. Kanekiyo.
She is survived by daughters Cynthia Okinaka, Dulcie (Alvin) Yano and Kristi (Dan) Patterson, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private service was held.

Jerry Eric Lagazo Jr.
Jerry Eric Lagazo Jr. passed away on Sept. 13, 2022, at Pakala Beach.
He was born on April 1, 1978, in Waimea.
He was preceded in death by mother Faith Arizo, grandmother Margaret Kaleo and grandfather Genaro Lagazo Sr.
He is survived by fiancée Kahea Pahia, sons William Lagazo of O‘ahu and Delcynn Lagazo (Lowen) of Kaua‘i, one grandchild, father Jerry Lagazo Sr., grandmother Solidad Lagazo, sister Liza (Jacob) Emproso, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Oct. 29, at MacArthur Park (Kekaha Beach Park).
The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
