PRINCEVILLE — AARP Hawai‘i invites people to celebrate healthy living during a free Picnic in the Park in Princeville on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prince Albert Park.
Lunch will be provided for those who register by calling 877-926-8300, co-sponsored by The Princeville at Hanalei Community Association, and the Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay. The Rotary Club of Hanalei is planning to build a kupuna center at the Prince Albert Park and will be sharing information on the proposed center at the picnic.
“We want people to have fun and exercise their mind and bodies,” said Jackie Borland, the AARP Hawai‘i Outreach director. “If people are social and active as they age, they are more likely to live a more fulfilling life.”
During the picnic, people can learn how to use the new AARP Fitlot at the Prince Albert Park, try a two-step and line dancing, play bingo, and learn about the six pillars of brain health.
Donations of canned foods and rice are also being collected for the local food bank.
