With the November general election less than a month away, the Hawai‘i Office of Elections is encouraging registered voters to sign up for ballot tracking alerts.
Voters can register to receive email, text or voice alerts, which will let them know where their ballot stands in the voting process. Registered voters can sign up at elections.hawaii.gov.
Voters who register for the service will be notified when their ballot has been mailed, received, and then accepted for counting.
Voters will also be sent reminders to return their ballots ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 8, general election, as well as being notified if there is an issue with their signature on the return ballot envelope.
The ballot tracking service generated thousands of signups prior to the primary election,” said Scott Nago, Chief Election Officer, in a statement.
“Over 13,000 voters signed up for ballot tracking alerts during the (Aug. 13) primary election and we hope more voters take advantage to give them that peace of mind that their ballot is on its way or that it has been received and accepted for counting,” Nago said.
“Once your ballot has been accepted for counting, voters can also download their virtual ‘I Voted’ sticker.”
Registered voters should begin to receive general election mail ballot packets on or about Oct. 21. The deadline to submit paper voter registration applications to the County Elections Division is Oct. 31, according to the Office of Elections.
The deadline for voters to request an absentee mail ballot is Nov. 1.
