Kaua‘i Climate Action Forum is Oct. 12
The Kaua‘i Climate Action Coalition, Surfrider Foundation Kaua‘i Chapter and Zero Waste Kaua‘i will host the Kaua‘i Climate Action Forum via Zoom on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The forum, “Burning Issues: The Consequences of Burning Trees for Power,” will feature a guest panel of Dr. Mary Stuart Booth, Henry Curtis and Brad Rockwell.
Booth is director and co-founder of Partnership for Policy Integrity and an ecosystem scientist, and an internationally recognized expert on biomass. Curtis is the executive director of Life of the Land on O‘ahu. Rockwell is the chief of operations at Kaua‘i Island Utilities Cooperative.

Joy Pigao is named new executive director of Life’s Bridges
Kaua‘i native Joy Pigao, who joined the Life’s Bridges’ board of directors in 2021, is the new executive director of the agency.
Pigao was born and raised on Kaua‘i. The agency made the announcement on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Life Bridges is an agency of Kaua‘i United Way.
