KILAUEA — The state Department of Transportation announced intermittent closures on Kuhio Highway of approximately 5 minutes between Kapuna Road and Wailapa Road from Monday through Friday, Oct. 10 to 14, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., to spray joint sealant on the highway.
Kapa‘a
• Portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed from Monday through Friday, Oct. 10 to 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., as construction of the new roundabout continues. No road work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop-off and pick up.
Wailua
• A right-shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway are possible in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements;
• A right-lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in the northbound direction between Kahawai Place and Pa‘ako Street Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 10 to 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree cutting.
Kealia
• A roving right-lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 10.4 and 24.4, Kamole Road and Kahiliholo Road, Monday through Friday, Oct. 10 to 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
Lihu‘e
• A right-lane closure is possible on Kuhio Highway in either direction along Rice Street Tuesday through Friday, Oct. 11 to 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for pothole patching.
Nawiliwili
• A single, right-lane closure on Rice Street is possible in the northbound direction between the Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort Lihu‘e and Mokoi Street from Wednesday to Friday, Oct. 12 to 14, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a route-improvement survey.
Koloa
• A roving, single-lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway is possible in either direction, between mile markers 5.4 and 9.1, vicinity of Kahili Road and Upa Road, from Monday through Friday, Oct. 10 to 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for grass trimming around guardrails.
