KILAUEA — Volunteers are welcome, and needed for the Saturday Oktoberfest at the Porter’s Pavilion at the Anaina Hou Community Park, said Ben Karon, the Anaina Hou Community Park Director of Operations.
Individuals, or groups wanting to volunteer for the Rotary Club of Hanalei fundraising event can email info@anainahou.org and reference volunteer opportunities for Oct. 8.
“It’s never too late to get involved,” Karon said.
The Rotary Club of Hanalei is partnering with Anaina Hou Community Park and support from Paradise Beverages to present the Oktoberfest Beer Festival Fall Fundraising Event to Kaua‘i’s North Shore at the Porter Pavilion on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. Proceeds from this event will be split between the two North Shore nonprofit organizations.
Early entrance will be from 1 p.m. for VIP ticket holders. General admission gates open at 2 p.m. The event is over at 6 p.m., which allows ample time to sample the different beers and get into the Oktoberfest spirit, Karon said. Tickets, both the VIP tickets, and the general tickets, are available at anainahou.org.
Oktoberfest unfolds at Porter Pavilion and the surrounding lawn area featuring beers from Samuel Adams, Paulaner, Ballast Point, Sierra Nevada, North Coast, Dogfish Head, Hop Valley, Leinenkugel, Kohola Brewing, Lagunitas, Maui Brewing Co., Rogue, Firestone Walker, and nonalcoholic options from Guinness, Lagunitas, and Sierra Nevada.
The beers will be available in an atmosphere of a corn-hole tournament, live music, yard games, a political dunk tank, and various food options.
Anaina Hou Community Park’s mission, from its founding, has been to create new opportunities for the island of Kaua‘i recreation, education and arts, entertainment, and the environment.

And COVID-19? Still around. Do you smoke, do tobacco, or vape? I was curious how many people on Kaua’i are drinkers. With the mix of alcohol and smoke or lead, this might do a person harm. It’s not helping.
But they have lessened the restrictions. That is driving under influence if you get caught. Just checking.
And another thing, Kaua’i is the least populated of all the four main islands in Hawai’i. How could they have passed the business permit? For the event. Hefty money spent here. Where’s your license? If I was a lawyer passing by, I would card the event. Just doing my part as a safe citizen.
What grad are you? What high school did you attend? If you mentioned a coach, I would have known you to be a fail. Flake. And sports. But you guys are invited. I never did attend one class reunion in all my 36 years after high school. Because 70% of my classmates were jocks. 30% passed, These people attending are jocks. Not where you want to be.
