Pat Gonsalves and Rose Manago of the county Agency on Elderly Affairs said it’s time to mark the calendar for Saturday, Oct. 15, when the Memory Keepers present their rummage sale to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s (Grace Delos Reyes of the OEA walked Saturday!) at the Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center from 8 a.m. to noon.

Oct. 15 is also the magic day when everything happens. The free pumpkins start going out, first at the big Fall Festival on the Westside before being dropped off at the Grove Farm Market in Puhi on Oct. 22 (free from 9:30 a.m. until supplies are gone), and then on Oct. 24 at the Pau Hana Market at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e (did you see the jackfruit seeds — raw — at Tomo and Toke Bee Ko?), where Amy Chun is attempting to get the bee-dressed walker from the Walk to End Alzheimer’s to lead pumpkin carving.
Oct. 15 is also the weekend Tiffany Dick and her Aloha Dance Studio ‘ohana start the annual Halloween fun at KGC.
