Pop Warner football scores reach 100

LIHU‘E — The Hanapepe Colts in the 14-Under 8-Man squad contest fell to Kapa‘a, 46-54 when the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League presented its weekly lineup of games, Sunday at the Vidinha Stadium where the Kaua‘i Soccer Association was also hosting its weekly fall season contests at the North Vidinha fields.

The combined score of the contest totaled 100 points, exactly, pointed out one of the football officials following the offensive slugfest. The second 14 Under contest between Lihu‘e and Kekaha was canceled.

In another high-scoring contest, the Lihu‘e Raiders’ Cub division nipped Hanapepe A team by three points in the competitive faceoff that Lihu‘e won, 35-32.

The Kekaha B team edged the Kapa‘a B team by a digit, 19-18 in another Cub division contest that opened the day hosted by the Lihu‘e Raiders.

KPWFL hosts its next round of contests, Sunday at Hanapepe Stadium starting with contests kicking off at 7:30 a.m.
