Jackie or Jakki?
Now we know why she wasn’t crewing aboard Fast Company (how could OZone sneak out that win during the Gene Wells Series last race?). Jackie Nelson was busy with the Kapa‘a Business Association keeping track of time and taking notes during that last County Council candidate forum.
But she still could squeeze in the Grove Farm Market (good job with the county Department of Water “Make A Splash” water education event, Sharyl Lam Yuen and Dave Hinazumi and all those other Grove Farm volunteeers (his smartphone had no idea about the no-show air riflery match), where Adam Coyaso had his hands full chopping coconuts and keeping Mini Me (she blows up when another little dog passes by) under control. Good thing the Wailua Creator’s Fair is not until this coming Sunday at the Hilton Garden Inn Kaua‘i Wailua Bay (they’re right up there with the Whaler’s Cove in the Tripadvisor travelers’ rankings).
Mahalo, Chef Glenn “Big Fire” Hayakawa for that Chinese-Japanese-French treat, and the Kaua‘i Kim Chee boss gave Ferdinand Dosono a break from behind the grill so Ferdinand could yau-yau in the traffic. Yes, Brian Atendido, it was busy — Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation cross country was in Waimea, and KIF football (congratulations, Kapa‘a, on a great homecoming!) was in Kapa‘a.
OK, time to see what Kaua‘i High School has up its Red Raider sleeves for their homecoming this week (parade at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e Thursday?). Nah, KIF girls volleyball on Tuesday first.
