PUHI — Kaua‘i High senior Brennen Corregedore, coming off a strong finish in the Kaua‘i Half Marathon last week, set the pace for the boys with a 17-minute, 17.94 second finish Saturday when the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation hosted an invitational cross country race at Island School, where the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association state meet will be held Oct. 29.
This brought the participation of three off-island schools: Kalani, Moanalua, and Hanalani, to run the track as a preview of the state meet.

Kalani pushed it first runners, Yuta Cole (18:01.21) in third and Maru Sekine (18:109.36) in fourth, to lead the O‘ahu visitors.
Colin Shimbukuro of Moanalua High School filled in the second finisher slot on a 17:36.99 run.
