WAIMEA — Registration for adult swim and preschool aquatic lessons will take place soon at the Waimea swimming pool on the Waimea High School campus.
Registration for adult swim lessons is Saturday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 24. Preschool aquatic lessons signups are Thursday, Sept. 22. Registration hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The adult program is open to adults ages 18 and older, while the preschool aquatic lessons are open to participants 2 to 5 years of age. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 students for the adult class and the first 10 for the preschool course. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The four-week adult course will teach participants basic aquatic skills and swimming techniques. The preschool aquatic class will introduce preschoolers to the aquatic environment and teach water safety. Parents are required to enter the pool and participate with their children.
The adult classes are in two separate sessions: Oct. 5 to Oct. 28, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 to 11 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The preschool classes are also in two separate sessions: Nov. 2 to Nov. 25, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 to 11:30 a.m.
