Florencio Castro
Florencio Castro, 79, of Kapa‘a, passed away on Aug. 20, 2022, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital in Kapa‘a. He was born in Sta. Maria, Ilocus Sur, Philippines. He worked on Kaua‘i as a landscaper for Kaua‘i Resort.
He was preceded in death by parents Fidel and Dionicia Castro.
He is survived by wife Corazon Castro, son Julius (Angelin) Castro, and grandchildren Julianne, Jericho and Julius Jr.
A service is at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a Saturday, Sept. 17. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kealia Cemetery.

Joseph Kahalekulu Kaleiohi
Joseph Kahalekulu Kaleiohi, 85, of Anahola, passed away peacefully at Wilcox Medical Center on Aug. 15, 2022. He was born in Papa‘a on Sept. 6, 1936. He graduated from Kapa‘a High School in 1955. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Hawai‘i Army National Guard, and retired from the Hawai‘i Laborers Union Local 368.
He was preceded in death by parents Ephraim and Evangeline Contrades Kaleiohi, brothers Ephraim, Edward, Ellsworth, Samuel, Robert and Phillip Kaleiohi, and sisters Evangeline Evans, Winifred Cummings, Phyliss Goias and Evelyn Reis.
He is survived by wife Marlene Kaleiohi, children Joseph Koani (Deana) Kaleiohi of San Diego, Michelle Rose Lehuanani (Kirk) Correa of Hanapepe, Matt Kahale (Jaymi) Kaleiohi of Kalihiwai, grandchildren Kayla Nalani Kaleiohi, Dallas Kahale (Malia) Correa, Chloe Lehua (Jordan) Tinjaca, Heather Hi‘ilani Kaleiohi, Shannin-Alana (Keenan) Driver, Kaimana Pomakai Kaleiohi, Malia Ku‘ulei Kaleiohi, Kari-Makenna Correa, Kahale Julio Kaleiohi, Kulia Kaleiohi, Kaliko Lehua Kaleiohi and Kia‘i Kai Kaleiohi, great-grandchildren Jayden and Jayleen Tinjaca, Xyris Costales and Maili-Rose Driver, brother Theodore Kaleiohi, sister Daisy Tailfeathers, and sisters-in-law Shirley Schwem and Lois, Amanda and Lani Kaleiohi.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Sept. 17, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, beginning at 1 p.m.

Janet C. Domingo, 80, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Aug. 29, 2022. She was born on Oct. 7, 1941, in Hanama‘ulu. She retired from Kaua‘i Sheraton Resort as a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by parents Hilda and Albert Corema, sister Doris (Kin Yin-deceased) Chang and brother-in-law Richard Machell.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Ray Domingo, daughters Raynette Domingo of Koloa and Jeanette (Brian) Prem of Hanama‘ulu, son Joey Domingo of Washington, sister Irene Machell of Kapa‘a, granddaughters Denine Bernades-Domingo and Janray Bernades-Domingo, grandson Nainoa Prem, great-grandchildren Christian, Aniyah and Alizah Delos Reyes, brothers-in-law Sylvester and Ernie Domingo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kayo Tadai Mikasa
Kayo Tadai Mikasa, 91, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Aug. 25, 2022, at Garden Isle Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born on Feb. 27, 1931, in Waimea. She retired as District Court administrator for Fifth Circuit Court, state of Hawai‘i.
She was preceded in death by parents Tokijiro and Kuni Tadai, husband George Mikasa, brother George Tadal, sister-in-law Alice Tadai, niece Karen Tadai and grand-nephew Cody Tadai.
She is survived by sons Keith (Donna) Mikasa and Marvin Mikasa, daughter Sharon (Gordon) Talbo, nephew Randy Tadal, grandson Trevor Nakasone, granddaughters Joy Mikasa and Jamie (Wai Kong) Ho, grandniece Mindy Goh and great-granddaughters Holly and Jemma Ho.
Private services for Kayo and George Mikasa were held.

Julius Henry Nordmeier Jr.
Julius Henry Nordmeier Jr. passed away on Aug. 28, 2022, in Waimea at the age of 73. He was born on Mar. 31, 1949, in Waimea. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a heavy equipment operator with Kekaha Sugar Co.
He was preceded in death by parents Julius and Beatrice Nordmeier.
He is survived by wife Carmen E. Nordmeier of Waimea, sons Julius H. (Lori Parbo) Nordmeier III of Waimea, Shandon (Leialoha an Agustin) Nordmeier of Kekaha and Kevin (Keala) Nordmeier of Waimea, brothers William “Billy” (Darlene) Nordmeier and Shane (Estrellita) Castillo, sisters JoAnn Hamamura, Sharon (Michael) Freitas, Jennifer Freitas and Leticia Hood, grandchildren Brandy Sheldon-Nordmeier, Jelacia San Agustin-Freitas, Kaycee San Agustin-Nordmeier, Bailey San Agustin-Nordmeier, Kekai San Agustin-Nordmeier, Aliyah Nordmeier-Kanahele, Madysen Nordmeier-Kanahele and Keiara Nordmeier, great-grandchildren Ryli Nordmeier-Kanahele, Kyrus Nordmeier-Kanahele, Zyrus Nordmeier-Kanahele, Sophia San Agustin, Ezekiel Kawai-San Agustin and Lucas Kawai-San Agustin, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Monday, Sept. 12, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe from 1 to 2 p.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers. The family also requests social distancing and that face masks be worn.

Ray (Bull) Kukunaokala Katsumi Harada Sr., 75, of Wainiha, passed away at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on Aug. 31, 2022. He was born in Kilauea on Aug. 14, 1947, raised in Lumaha‘i and loved living his life as a cowboy and a hunter.
He was preceded in death by parents Allen Genichi and Rose Harada, Allen “Akida” Genichi Harada, Alfred “Yoshi” Harada Sr. and granddaughter Elizabeth “Chieko” Harada.
He is survived by sister Lily “Mieko” (Wilbert “Afuk”) Tai Hook, mother of his children Bethan (Pua) Baptista, children Chanderrae Snyder, Ray ”Kuna” Harada Jr., Zion Harada, Alpha “Harue” Harada and Ka‘ohu Harada, grandchildren Chandlyn “Harue” Harada, Chazlyn “Mieko” Harada, Zen “Chikada” Harada-Sexton, Challen “Katsumi” Harada-Snyder, Zaaron “Akida” Harada-Snyder, Tyren-John “Satoru” Harada-Snyder and Juden-James “Teruo” Harada-Snyder, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at 5-2950 Kuhio Hwy. at the Wilbert Tai Hook Estate (Kalihiwai). Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m., with services to follow.

Jerry P. Lorenzo, 77, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Aug. 9, 2022, in Honolulu. He was born on June 18, 1945, in Laoag City, Philippines. He was a machinist, mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife Maria V. Lorenzo, Nov. 2009, brother Juan “Johnny” Lorenzo Sr., Jan. 2008, father Calixto Domingcil Lorenzo and mother Petra Pacual.
He is survived by daughter JoAnn M. Lorenzo, son Ryan V. Lorenzo, daughter-in-law Camie Lorenzo, grandchildren Jourdann L. Marquez of Renton, Washington and Reegan J. Lorenzo of Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, wife Catherine A. Lorenzo, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
