Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Did you get to check out those online auction items (the alula from the NTBG South Shore Visitor Center might already be in bloom) from the National Tropical Botanical Gardens Tropical Plant celebration event? There’s still time because the auction is live online through Sept. 7, but don’t put it off because some of those native plants might sell out…or, the unique Botanicals and other artwork.
Robin Jumper said the Kaua‘i Marathon (didn’t Rachel Secretario say she was doing the Half Marathon?) is already here with the opening of the Wilcox Health Expo (and Race Packet pick-up) at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa (it opens from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday), and don’t forget about the traffic advisories on race day, Sunday.
Kudos to Blaine Agena and all those Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football Association hands that hosted the Pop Warner Jamboree where Kuku DeCosta was recognized as one of the Pop Warner greats like Coach Dick Ueoka and Harold Naumu. Games continue Sunday from 7:30 a.m. (make sure you take in those traffic slowdowns near the Maluhia Road to Kalaheo from the Kaua‘i Marathon) at the Hanapepe Stadium where Waimea Coach Kyle Linoz will host Kaua‘i High School, Saturday with the Junior Varsity games kicking off at 5 p.m.
